Sruti  says  Atmata  Eva  idagaM  sarvaM || Chandogya 7-26-1

The Shruti here has nothing to do with sannyAsa, the topic being discussed.

Whoever

  has  the  sincere  longing  for  Atmajnana  is
> an  adhikari , irrespective  of  caste  creed,  religion  or  sex.
> They  need  not wear  the  ochre  robe.

The ochre robe is not for Atma, its for body, and the body has varNa, etc.
