Namaste Subbu ji

Thank you for sharing this.

I just googled and got the first verse quoted by you referenced by someone
as from manusmRti - shrotavyaH shrutivAkyebhaH.

The 9th verse quoted by you is there in the parAshara-upa-purANam (14.34)
too.

But I think you need all of them from one common source - possibly one of
the other upapurANas?

I noted also the following in passing.

The vivaraNa-prameya-saMgraha of Sri Vidyaranya (naturally) follows the
vivaraNa school of Sri Padmapada and asserts the primacy of shravaNam or
verbal testimony as the primary (angI) for brahma-GYAnam and relegates
mananam and nidhidhyaasanam to anga-s or limbs. And yet, the importance of
nidhidhyaasanam as a specific "sitting-meditation" type of ekagratA
practice for vedAnta GYAnam is acknowledged without dilution.

Incidentally, there was a nice well-articulated reiteration of the
svataH-prakAshatvaM of AtmA and discussion of the ideas of vRtti-vyApti and
phala-vyApti as a detailed footnote in the Hindi translation which is quite
well-written.

Raghav
