Namaste.
Rama was not a jivan Muktha. He is Parameshwara. Bhagavan explained this in
Gita saying that he appears on earth as human in order to establish dharma
however he never loses his knowledge of being Parameshwara. This is what
Shankaracharya explained in his Geeta bhasya. So it’s generally called
“Leela”, it is hard to determine why bagavan does an action. Lord when he
took avatara as Krishna he cried when he was told his father passed away
which was a lie. He being the sarva antaryami knew that it was a lie yet he
still cries, why? No one knows.
My personal suggestion regarding Bhagavans Leela is that it is not possible
to understand his actions. All we can do is worship him that’s all. Hope
this helps
