Namaste Sudhanshu Ji,

Reg // agni-jnAna is a jnAna which has agni as the vishaya. vyApti-jnAna,
which is anumiti-karaNa, is a jnAna which has vyApti as the vishaya.

If you say that agni-jnAna is vyApti-jnAna, it implies that agni is vyApti,
which is incorrect//,

Commentary by Sri Anantakrishna Shastri on VP, Page 144, copied below.

// एवं चानुमानपदार्थः क इत्यत आह- *अनुमितिकरणं चेति* । *व्याप्तिज्ञानमिति*
धूमो वह्निव्याप्य इति ज्ञानमित्यर्थः । //

// evaM chAnumAnapadArthaH ka ityata Aha- anumitikaraNaM cheti |
vyAptij~nAnamiti dhUmo vahnivyApya iti j~nAnamityarthaH |//,

Self explanatory. Your understanding is incorrect. vyApti-jnAna means, in
the current context, agni is vyApya.

Regards
