I once talked to a friend acquainted with Madhva Tradition. He used the
word delusion and not illusion. He was trying to say that mind wrongly
perceives. wrong perception is an error on part of individual and this does
not mean that samsāra is an illusion. for them, jagat is satya, but
dependent upon parampuruśa Vīṣṇu. Jagat is real but impermanent. Jagat is
real as real can only create real.

Śrī Madhva also taught advaita to those who were interested or qualified.
This teachings is taken as ego or win of dvaita over advaita. however all
āchārya-s (including Śrī Ādi Śankara Bhagavadpāda) stressed on svānubhava
(direct experience) rather than mere speculation and remaining satisfied
with theory. That is why some consider advaita dry philosophy. But the very
fact that Śrī Madhva taught advaita means he experienced advaita sthiti -
a point often ignored. Hence some realized āchārya-s of dvaita order could
mention this world as illusion, but the commentators or others rigidly
sticking to dvaita-vāda will interpret these words according to what suits

I feel that once sampradāya-vāda crosses the limits, it can induce rigidly
and even fanaticism which follows denigration of other deities. Maybe this
is the reason why a renewed Śrī Vaiṣṇava sampradāya - Svāmī Nārāyāṇa
sampradāya teaches equality of Vīṣṇu and Maheśa. They follow Vīṣṇu
panchāyatna upāsanā vidhi or pancha-deva-pūjā with Viṣṇu as the main
deity. Core instructions called as 'Sixāpatrī' 'Śikshāpatrī' teaches many
things which a Śrī Vaiṣṇava will never agree to.

This sampradāya is the most liberal amongst Vaiṣṇava sampradāya-s. They
follow Viśiṣṭādvaita, and revere Śrī Rāmānuja's Śrībhāshya. Bhagavān
Svāmīnārāyāṇa even incorporated puṣt́i mārga.

Here is a link to Śikshāpatrī in English

Some verses are -

23. When (my followers) on their way, come across temples of Shiv, and
other deities, they shall bow down to them and have their darshan

*46. Brahmin and other followers who are required on the account of their
family tradition, to put on horizontal mark on their forehead and to wear
on their neck a necklace prepared from Rudraksha beads shall not give up
wearing them, even after becoming My followers.*

*47. All shall realize (know) that Narayan and the Mahesh are one, for as
Brahman they have been described as one in the Vedas.*

59. Shastras proclaim these Bhaktas as Nirguna (i.e. completely free from
mundane qualities like Satva, Rajas, and Tamas) since Lord Shri Krishna
(Hari) is Nirguna. Because of their intimate relation with him, all their
action also become Nirguna.

*79. All shall observe devoutly and with proper festivities, the Vratas of
all Ekadashi days of every month as well as the birth day of Shri Krishna
and Shiv. (Janmastami and Shivaratri)*

81. Shri Vitthalnathji, son of Shri Vallabhacharya, a king among the
Vaishanavas, has given decisions regarding all Vratas and festivals.

(Shri Vitthalnath ji is said to be disciple of Madhusudan Saraswati)

82. All shall observe them accordingly. The mode of worship of Lord Shri
Krishna as explained by him shall also be followed.

*84. My followers shall regard the five deities named here with reverence -
Vishnu, Shiva, Ganpati, Parvati and the Sun.*

106. Maya is one which constitutes the three qualities - Satva, Raja and
Tama, is ignorance incarnate, is power of Lord Shri Krishna and is the
cause prima for ego and personal attachment for body physic and everything
else related to it, on the part of Jiva.
