|  This is admitted in Advaita as the Akhandakara vritti.

Until we get the exact reference of the passage as cited by Shankara
(‘विद्यासहायवानीश्वरः’ इति स्मृतिः ।) we can take this Mahabharata verse as
what is being cited by Shankara partly 'shbadatah' and partly 'arthatah'.
The shabda part is contained in the MB   ‘विद्यासहायवान्', the artha part
is 'ईश्वरः' which is a rendering  the meaning of  देवो विष्वक्सेनो हरिः
प्रभुः.
From the Kena bhashya   अत इन्द्रस्य बोधहेतुत्वाद्विद्यैवोमा, Uma, the
shakti of Shiva,  (as Shankara has stated here in the Vakyabhashya itself,
Rudrapatni, and in the pada bhashya as Himavan's daughter) we understand
that Shankara is implying that just as Lakshmi is for Narayana, Uma is for
Shiva.

We have at least two parmanas (as available on Advaita sharada) for the
concept of चिन्मात्रा वृत्तिः :

Sureshwaracharya's Taittirya Bhashya Vartika:

अन्वयव्यतिरेकाभ्यां जाग्रत्स्वप्नसुषुप्तिसु ।
बाह्यं निरस्य धीरूपं *चिन्मात्रात्मावभासया *।
धियोपलक्ष्यावाक्यार्थं सर्वदाऽव्यभिचारतः ॥ ६५६ ॥

Vivekachudamani:

ब्रह्मात्मनोः शोधितयोरेकभावावगाहिनी । निर्विकल्पा च चिन्मात्रा वृत्तिः
प्रज्ञेति कथ्यते । सा सर्वदा भवेद्यस्य स जीवन्मुक्त इष्यते ॥ ४२८ ॥

It is also interesting that the Kaivalya shruti  उमासहायं परमेश्वरं प्रभुं
त्रिलोचनं..  has the word 'prabhu' which is there in the Mahabharata verse
too:   विद्यासहायवान् देवो विष्वक्सेनो हरिः प्रभुः.  We have already noted
that the word 'sahaya' is common to both these passages.
